The Art of Craft Beer: ArtsWestchester Partners with Half Time for ArtsBash 2016
Pours from New York Craft Breweries to be paired with an Evening of Arts, Artists and Cuisine
WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. (May 12, 2016) – Craft beer lovers will join art enthusiasts and food connoisseurs this year at ArtsWestchester’s signature ArtsBash event on Friday, May 20th thanks to their new partnership with Half Time. The arts council today announced that it has teamed up with the beer retailer to provide an array of craft beer selections to the event designed to introduce the community to its historically restored building in White Plains that features artist studios, creative businesses, a two-story gallery and more.
As both the arts and craft beer industries look to diversify and grow their audiences, both ArtsWestchester and Half Time saw the partnership as a great way to bridge their respective loyal followings. Pours of Brooklyn Brew, Ithaca Brew and Kelso Brew will be paired with an evening of food and art featuring works by more than 20 artists on view at the event. Additionally, ArtsBash will feature tastings from more than 30 top area restaurants.
“From the arts perspective, collaboration with Half Time and local craft breweries will help ArtsWestchester attract young professionals to our gallery and to our unique arts events,” said Janet T. Langsam, CEO of ArtsWestchester. “Just as Half Time’s stores attract customers from afar, the arts attract cultural tourists who enjoy lifestyle and leisure activities to Westchester’s cities and towns. By partnering with the food and beverage industries at ArtsBash and other events, it’s a win-win for the cultural consumer.”
Half Time has been supplying craft beer and cider enthusiasts with an elaborate selection of beer and cider for more than a decade and employs some of the most knowledgeable beer and cider experts. Alan Daniels, the owner of the two Half Time stores in New York, featuring 5,000 beers and hundreds of ciders, believes that showcasing the art of the brew master at ArtsWestchester’s event is a perfect fit.
Daniels added, “Our participation in this year’s ArtsBash provides the opportunity for arts supporters to sample a unique selection of craft beers. Framing the hop and barley artisans’ craft brews for an audience of folks will appreciate the artisanal nature of the craft beer process makes great sense.”
