Hudson Valley Writers Center’s Spring Schedule Moves Online To Accommodate Social Distancing

The Hudson Valley Writers Center is currently not holding in-person readings, classes, and events in our historic landmarked station house, but we are pleased to announce that many of our activities have shifted online. Writing is often a solitary endeavor, but classes and writing groups enable writers to connect, share ideas, get feedback, edit and socialize with their peers and mentors. During these times of social distancing, we want to acknowledge that we still need a community and provide options for writers to continue getting the support, guidance and connection they require.

Our new round of classes have moved online to Zoom, which is a user-friendly platform enabling live audio and video interaction between an instructor and a limited number of class participants. We will still offer the same high quality, small-group programming, just in a different format given these changed times.

The Philipse Manor Station building has housed the HVWC since 1996 and this transition in programming is a first in our history. We are looking ahead and implementing technology to safely offer meaningful programming to our community of writers and readers.
