Yonkers artist awarded for her thought-provoking sculpture of Medusa
Yonkers artist Esther Lo won the “Harriet Frishmuth/Leila Gardin Sawyer Award” at the Catharine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club 127th Open Juried Exhibition showcasing works submitted by artists from 24 states. Her emotional piece titled “Fate caught up with Medusa” showed Medusa as a frightened victim instead of a monster. It will be on view through Dec 6 at Salmagundi Club, 47 Fifth Avenue, New York. Award Reception to be held on Dec 7th 12-2pm.
About Esther Lo
My work is a reflection on life and celebration of the human spirit. I blend contemporary design with classical elements, fusing form with color. My pieces evoke, stimulate and challenge the mind. Like an actress living her roles, each nuanced glance and gesture tells a story. Each tactile application pulsates like heartbeat, emitting a sensibility that brings soul to my art.
