Pride Month Events in Westchester 2024
This Pride Month, arts organizations and local municipalities in Westchester are celebrating the LGBTQ+ community – from art fairs and film screenings to exhibitions and children’s workshops. Here’s a list of more than two-dozen events taking place throughout the county:
June 1
Rye Town Park Pride Celebration
Presented by pRYEde Community
This celebration will begin with a pop-up Artist Festival & Pride Fair curated by Rye Arts Center, which will feature music, art and activities in Rye Town Park. The fair will be followed by a Pride flag-raising ceremony, a Pride parade along Playland Boardwalk and an after-party on the beach, featuring a live DJ and food. Begins at 4:30pm.

Peekskill’s Got Pride Color Run
Presented by Peekskill Brewery
A collaboration with Peekskill Pride, this color run splashes color on its 5K runners at each 1K mark, creating a colorful run along the Peekskill waterfront. At 10am at Station Square.

New Castle Pride Flag-Raising Ceremony
Presented by Town of New Castle LGBTQ+ Committee
Following this flag-raising at Chappaqua’s Town Hall will also be a children’s art program co-sponsored by the Chappaqua Library on the 1st Floor of Town Hall. (200 South Greeley Avenue, Chappaqua)
June 1-30
Thicc-ening the Narrative
Presented by Clay Art Center
In this online Pride month exhibition, viewers will get a glimpse into the intersectional reflections on race, queerness and body size in contemporary ceramics. Guest curated by Deshun Peoples. Participating artists include Carletta Williams, Shaun Mallonga, V Walton, Gerald Brown, Grace (Gray) Gittelman and Haylie Jimenez. A June 20 virtual artist panel will take place on Zoom at 7pm.
June 1- July 31
LGBTQ+ Music Listening Library
Presented by Bethany Arts Community
This interactive listening library was installed at Bethany Arts Community through July 31 to create an immersive experience that demonstrates the legacy of queer musicians through vinyl, CDs and cassettes on multiple sound mediums. An opening celebration will take place on June 5 at 7pm. Listening hours: Mon-Fri: 10am-4pm and Wed: 10am-9pm.

Westchester Pride
Presented by The LOFT: LGBTQ+ Community Center
An afternoon street festival will feature a marketplace with live entertainment and special events such as the flag-raising ceremony, pet parade and Family Zone. The festival takes place on Court Street (between Martine Avenue and Main Street) Renaissance Plaza in downtown White Plains.

LGBTQ+ Flag Raising
Presented by the Westchester County LGBTQ+ Advisory Board
Westchester County will kick off a month of Westchester Pride events with the raising of the Rainbow Flag. 11:30am at the Michaelian Office Building in White Plains (148 Martine Avenue).

The Legendary House of Xclusive Lanvin: On and Off the Runway
Presented by ArtsWestchester
This event, taking place one block away from Westchester Pride, will give guests the opportunity to delve into an exclusive conversation in ArtsWestchester’s gallery (1pm) with the Legendary House of Lanvin, renowned for its prowess on the runway and impactful community work. The conversation will be followed by an original performance on Westchester Pride’s main stage (2pm). This event is part of ArtsWestchester’s Westchester Roots series.
June 2
Friday Night Pride
Presented by Village of Hastings-on-Hudson, Destination Hastings, and Hastings Rainbow Families
This evening concert will feature a diverse lineup of musicians and performers, from local talent to Broadway stars. Hosted by Broadway vet Jamie Karen and stage artist Amy Lynn. 6pm on Warburton Avenue, Downtown Hastings.

Pound Ridge Color Run
Presented by Pound Ridge Partnership in collaboration with the Human Rights Advisory Committee
This 5K road race and “fun run” in honor of Pride Month is inspired by Holi, a Hindu festival celebrating spring and the triumph of good over evil. At 9am at Pound Ridge Elementary School.
June 5
Ossining Pride Flag-Raising
Presented by Ossining LGBTQ+ Alliance, in collaboration with the Village of Ossining
The raising of the Pride flag in Market Square will be followed by remarks from members of the LGBTQ+ community and elected officials. At 4pm.
June 6
Parking Lot Party & Film Screening: But I’m A Cheerleader
Presented by Jacob Burns Film Center & The LOFT LGBTQ+ Community Center
Jacob Burns Film Center’s annual Pride Parking Lot Party (5pm), featuring food trucks, a bar and DJ, will be followed by a screening of the film But I’m A Cheerleader (7pm). This 1999 satirical teen romantic comedy in which a high school cheerleader’s parents send her to a conversion therapy camp to “cure” her lesbianism. Despite the “therapy” she experiences, she comes to embrace her sexuality. 7pm.
June 7
Free First Fridays: The Muses
Presented by Hudson River Museum
This DJ duo specializes in Parisian funk, house, disco and underground pop for an evening Pride celebration. The duo has recently been featured on Apple TV and Netflix, and at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Whitney Museum and Lincoln Center. 5-8pm.
June 7-23
I Am My Own Wife
Presented by Studio Theater in Exile
This one-person show is based on the true story of Charlotte von Mahlsdorf, German transvestite who “survived the Nazis and the Stasi in a dress,” later founding both a museum and nightclub that protected the LGBTQ+ community. Dates and times vary.
June 8
Yonkers Pride Festival
Presented by The City of Yonkers Mayor’s LGBTQ Advisory Board, Yonkers Pride Planning Board, and the Yonkers Downtown Business Improvement District
Yonkers will host its 7th annual celebration, an outdoor event featuring celebrity entertainment, food, merchandise, activities and community organizations. Rain or shine at 66 Main St., Yonkers.
June 8
New Rochelle Pride Festival
Presented by the City of New Rochelle
This afternoon event features carnival games, food trucks, live music, vendors and more from 2-5pm at Ruby Dee Park (Lawton Street).
June 9
Celebrate Pride at Open Streets Tarrytown
Presented by the Village of Tarrytown
Guests of all ages can participate in activities, listen to live music, take a selfie under the giants rainbow and leave a note on the “Love is Love” tree. At 10:30am-3pm on Main Street, Tarrytown.
June 11
Film Screening: Beautiful Thing
Presented by Jacob Burns Film Center & The LOFT LGBTQ+ Community Center
Beautiful Thing is a 1996 love story “for anyone who ever dared to risk everything for happiness—and won.” The screening will be followed by a pre-recorded Q&A with the film’s playwright Jonathan Harvey, moderated by Chris Holliday, curator of the film center’s Pride series.

Pride at the Picture House
Presented by The Picture House (Pelham)
Summer Solstice tells a story of friendship and self-discovery when Leo, a trans man, and his friend Eleanor take a weekend trip together. This special advance screening of will include a post-screening discussion with actress Marianne Rendón, who plays Eleanor in the film.
June 13
Celebrating Pride: Jasmine Rice LaBeija
Presented by Caramoor Center for Music and the Arts
In celebration of Pride Month, guests can expect a night of music and entertainment featuring Jasmine Rice LaBeija, a Juilliard-trained tenor and renowned drag artist. This performance is followed by an after-party in Caramoor’s Spanish Courtyard.

The Arts of the House Ballroom: Ballroom Has Something to Say
Presented by ArtsWestchester & Bethany Arts Community
Attendees can explore the intergenerational history of Black LGBTQ+ house ballroom culture beyond mainstream portrayals. Michael Roberson’s newest production honors Black gay/queer men through oratory, vogue, poetry and song, celebrating resilience and strength. The diverse cast includes Icon Michael Roberson Maison-Margiela, Legendary Khaos Lanvin and more. This event is part of ArtsWestchester’s Westchester Roots series.

Sweet World: A Generative Poetry Workshop for Young LGBTQIA+ and Nonbinary Writers
Presented by Hudson Valley Writers Center
This workshop with this workshop with instructor Dustin Brookshire will allow participants to share poems they love as well as work on writing their own pieces, which they will have the opportunity to share. 1-3pm via Zoom.
June 22
Lewisboro LGBTQ+ Pride in the Park
Presented by Lewisboro Celebrates Pride
Attendees can expect to enjoy food trucks, performances, a drag queen story hour, flag-raising ceremony, pet Pride parade, local community vendors and a family-friendly DJ dance party. At 2-4pm. (1190 Route 35, South Salem)
June 22 & 23
Pride Weekend
Westchester Children’s Museum
Young visitors will have the opportunity to participate in science and learning activities centered around a rainbow theme. Activities include prisms, bubbles, weaving, and more. 9am-5pm.
June 27
Film Screening: Close to You
Presented by Jacob Burns Film Center & The LOFT LGBTQ+ Community Center
Close To You (2023) follows Sam, played by Elliot Page, when he returns home for his father’s birthday after moving to Toronto. This is a previewing screening. 7pm.
June 29
Yorktown Pride March and Festival
Presented by Yorktown For Justice
The 4th Annual Northern Westchester/Yorktown Pride event starts at the historic Railroad Park and ends in the same location an hour later. The march will be followed by a festival at the park, featuring performances, grassroots speakers and vendors.

Peekskill Pride’s Family Pride in the Park
Presented by Peekskill Pride Guests can enjoy performances by Cacophony Daniels and Evita Loca, enjoy crafts, games, vendors, drag queen story hour, live DJ and more. 1pm in Pugsley Park, Peekskill.
